About The Position

Wag N' Wash is seeking experienced Groomers who are passionate about pets and provide grooming services while helping create a safe, welcoming experience for pets and their guardians. Groomers brush, bathe, condition, groom, and style pets according to owners’ instructions and breed standards. They also build relationships with customers, recommend appropriate products and services, help book appointments, support community outreach, and keep the grooming area clean. New Groomer hires with at least one year of experience are eligible for a sign-on bonus. Pay is commission-based with a guaranteed minimum, and the posted range is $16.00 per hour.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least one year of grooming experience, with formal training certification and/or experience under an established certified groomer.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Ability to ensure pets’ safety during grooming.
• Ability to groom to AKC breed standards and perform skills such as carding and hand stripping.
• Ability to move or lift merchandise, equipment, or pets weighing up to 65 pounds.
• Ability to stand, bend, or stoop for extended periods.
• Ability to provide personal grooming equipment, such as clippers, blades, and scissors.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be at least 18 years old and pass drug screening where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide grooming services, including brushing, bathing, and conditioning pets.
• Groom and style pets according to owners’ instructions and/or breed standards.
• Follow company safety policies and ensure pets remain safe during grooming.
• Build long-term relationships with customers by understanding their needs and recommending products and services.
• Conduct community outreach to attract new customers to the store.
• Complete safety training certification.
• Use the in-store scheduling tool and help customers book appointments.
• Perform routine cleaning to keep the grooming environment inviting.
