Groomer - Wag N Wash
About The Position
Wag N' Wash is seeking experienced Groomers who are passionate about pets and provide grooming services while helping pets feel comfortable. Groomers deliver bathing, brushing, conditioning, grooming, and styling services according to owners’ instructions or breed standards. The role also includes building relationships with customers, recommending pet products and services, supporting appointment booking, community outreach, and maintaining a safe, clean, inviting grooming environment. A sign-on bonus is available to new Groomer hires with at least one year of experience.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least one year of grooming experience, with formal training certification and/or experience under an established certified groomer.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Ability to keep pets safe during the grooming process.
- Ability to cut to AKC Breed Standards and perform skills such as carding and hand stripping; training is available.
- Ability to earn commission consistently.
- Ability to move or lift merchandise, equipment, or pets weighing up to 65 pounds.
- Ability to stand, bend, or stoop for extended periods.
- Ability to provide personal grooming equipment, such as clippers, blades, and scissors.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must pass drug screening in applicable states and be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities
- Provide grooming services, including brushing, bathing, and conditioning pets.
- Groom and style pets according to owners’ instructions and/or breed standards.
- Follow company safety policies and ensure pets remain safe during grooming.
- Build long-term relationships with customers by understanding their needs and recommending products and services.
- Conduct community outreach to attract new customers to the store.
- Complete safety training certification.
- Use the in-store scheduling tool and assist customers with booking appointments.
- Perform routine cleaning to maintain a fun and inviting grooming environment.
