About The Position

Wag N' Wash is seeking experienced Groomers to provide grooming services and create a comfortable, positive experience for pets and their owners. Groomers build relationships with customers, understand their needs, and recommend products and services that support pets’ health and happiness. The role also includes helping attract new customers, scheduling appointments, maintaining a clean grooming area, and following company safety policies. A sign-on bonus is available to new Groomer hires with at least one year of experience. Compensation is commission-based with a guaranteed minimum. Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
At least one year of grooming experience, with formal training certification and/or experience under an established certified groomer.
Excellent communication skills.
Exceptional customer service skills.
Ensure pets remain safe during grooming.
Ability to cut to AKC Breed Standards and perform skills such as carding and hand stripping; training is available.
Sound understanding of animal behavior.
Ability to earn commission consistently.
Ability to move or lift merchandise, equipment, or pets weighing up to 65 pounds.
Ability to stand, bend, or stoop for extended periods.
Provide personal grooming equipment, such as clippers, blades, and scissors.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Pass a drug screening in applicable states and be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

Provide grooming services such as brushing, bathing, and conditioning pets.
Groom and style pets according to owners’ instructions and/or breed standards.
Follow company safety policies to protect employees and pets.
Build long-term relationships with customers by understanding their needs and recommending products and services.
Participate in community outreach to attract new customers to the store.
Complete safety training certification.
Use the in-store scheduling tool and help customers book appointments.
Perform routine cleaning to keep the grooming environment clean and inviting.
