About The Position

Assists the Grocery Manager and Grocery Third Person with operating the Grocery Department, including personnel supervision and training, ordering, receiving, storing, pricing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising. In the absence of the Store Director, Grocery Manager, and Grocery Third Person, directs and controls the operation of the entire store. The role also supports customer service, department operations, merchandising, loss prevention, and compliance with company policies. This is a safety-sensitive position.

Ability to stand and walk for long periods; reach, lift, stack, and maneuver objects weighing up to approximately 80 pounds; and climb ladders as needed.
Ability to properly stack and operate fully loaded hand trucks and pallet jacks.
Manual dexterity, good eye-hand coordination, and mental alertness to complete work safely and accurately.
Ability to work at different times of day with little or no supervision, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to use cleaning supplies, chemicals, and safety cutters as needed.
Compliance with Company policies, including attendance, grooming standards, and dress code.

Responsibilities

Champion Company and Division customer service programs to meet or exceed Division customer service goals.
Handle customer relations positively, including resolving customer complaints effectively, and promote Albertson’s philosophy of personalized service.
Perform ordering, receiving, storing, pricing, stocking, rotating, and merchandising duties.
Assist the Grocery Manager and Grocery Third Person in planning, organizing, and directing day-to-day Grocery Department operations.
Assist in implementing Company and Division merchandising policies and Store Director instructions.
Control shrink and prevent the sale of out-of-code products.
Ensure compliance with Company sanitation, safety, security, and other policies; initiate corrective action as needed.
Open and close the store.
Act as a backup cashier as needed.
Engage in suggestive selling and other sales techniques.
Perform all job duties accurately, honestly, and with integrity.
Perform other necessary and required duties as assigned.
