About The Position

The Grocery Fourth Person assists the Grocery Manager and Grocery Third Person with operating the Grocery Department, including supervising and training personnel and carrying out ordering, receiving, storing, pricing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising activities. In the absence of the Store Director, Grocery Manager, and Grocery Third Person, this role directs and controls the operation of the entire store. The position supports customer service goals, handles customer concerns, helps manage department operations and merchandising, controls shrink, prevents the sale of out-of-code products, and ensures compliance with company policies. It may include opening and closing the store and providing backup cashier coverage. This is a safety-sensitive position involving potential exposure to equipment hazards, cold storage areas, changing temperatures, and occasional outdoor conditions.

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods; reach, lift, stack, and maneuver objects of varying sizes and weights up to approximately 80 pounds; and climb ladders as needed.
Ability to stack properly and operate fully loaded hand trucks and pallet jacks.
Manual dexterity, good eye-hand coordination, and mental alertness to complete work safely and accurately.
Ability to work at different times of day with little or no supervision, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to use cleaning supplies, chemicals, and safety cutters as needed.
Compliance with Company policies, including attendance, grooming standards, and dress code.

Responsibilities

Champion Company and Division customer service programs and work toward meeting or exceeding customer service goals.
Handle customer relations positively, resolve complaints effectively, and promote Albertsons’ personalized-service philosophy.
Perform ordering, receiving, storing, pricing, stocking, rotating, and merchandising duties.
Assist the Grocery Manager and Grocery Third Person in planning, organizing, and directing the Grocery Department’s day-to-day operations.
Help implement Company and Division merchandising policies and Store Director instructions.
Control shrink and prevent the sale of out-of-code products.
Ensure compliance with Company sanitation, safety, security, and other policies, and initiate corrective action as needed.
Open and close the store; provide backup cashier coverage as needed.
Use suggestive selling and other sales techniques.
Perform all job duties accurately, honestly, and with integrity.
Perform other necessary and required duties as assigned.
