Grant Writer

The Grant Writer will be responsible for researching and identifying grant opportunities that align with the organization's mission. They will write and submit high-quality grant proposals to various funding agencies, while also maintaining a donor database and records. The Grant Writer will collaborate with key stakeholders, develop relationships, and manage multiple projects and priorities. This role reports to the Senior Director and requires strong research, communication, and project management skills. A Bachelor's degree, grant writing experience, and knowledge of funding sources are preferred qualifications.

Researching available grants and their requirements

Writing, formatting, and submitting grant proposals

Researching and analyzing grant opportunities

Developing relationships with key stakeholders

Developing supporting documents and maintaining donor database and records

Communicating with company leadership regarding grant collaborations

Managing multiple projects and priorities

Searching for funding sources

Managing existing grants

Reporting to stakeholders

Working on special projects

Investigating local, state, federal, private, foundation, and corporate sources of funds

Preparing proposals by conducting research and gathering data

Maintaining proposal templates and support databases

Performing internal reviews of institutional needs

Developing and maintaining an internal grant application process

Creating and updating the grants development calendar

Coordinating, developing, and processing grant applications

Ensuring proposal deadlines are met

Writing and editing executive summaries, conclusions, and descriptions

Identifying funding needs and opportunities

Collaborating with fund personnel

Communicating proposal strategy and progress to stakeholders

Preparing presentations of proposals

Developing and maintaining a grant management system

Developing and maintaining a library of information on funding sources and grant writing

Implementing technology for grants development and management

Demonstrating strong research, communication, and publication writing skills

Exhibiting critical thinking skills and the ability to work independently and with others

Possessing excellent organizational and interpersonal skills

Having knowledge of funding sources, compliance issues, and legal and fiscal policies

Showing a high degree of initiative to find solutions and meet goals

• Bachelor's degree, Master's degree or relevant experience preferred
• 5+ years of grant writing experience
• 3+ years of project management experience
• Strong research, communication, and publication writing skills
• Critical thinking skills; must be autonomous and self-driven; must be able to work well independently and with others
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
• Knowledgeable of funding sources, compliance issues, and legal and fiscal policies of funding sources and appropriate government agencies
• Implement the use of technology to assist with grants development and management
• High degree of initiative to find solutions and meet deadlines
• Read, comprehend, interpret, and apply governmental regulations and proposal guidelines
• Work independently, be computer literate, and possess the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Salesforce and Tableau experience preferred

• Anticipated base salary range of ($75,000 - $80,000) with potential bonus eligibility
