About the position
As a lead ML Engineer at 2U, you will play a crucial role in improving revenue operations by leveraging analytics, experimentation, and modeling. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to uncover new opportunities, design and analyze experiments, and deliver solutions with a significant business impact. Your responsibilities will include designing and managing scalable ML infrastructure, building pipelines for ML models, and addressing data quality and system scalability issues. This high-impact role will allow you to influence product and marketing decisions and drive growth and engagement for 2U.
Responsibilities
- Architecture and design of engineering solutions around Machine Learning products
- Building pipelines to productionize ML Models and workflows
- Designing, implementing, and managing scalable ML infrastructure for Data Science
- Maintaining and developing tools for 2U-specific Data Science applications
- Collaborating with Data Science and Engineering teams to identify and address issues related to data quality, model performance, and system scalability
- Working with other Engineering Leads to design cross-domain architecture and data streaming
- Monitoring and maintaining ML systems to ensure high availability, reliability, and performance
- Developing and maintaining automated testing and monitoring processes
- Participating in code reviews and contributing to the development of best practices for ML infrastructure and operations
- Mentoring and helping develop engineers
- Assisting in MLE roadmap and timeline development
- Keeping up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging technologies
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience working with data pipelines, data warehousing, ML infrastructure and operations
- Experience with real-time streaming system and modeling
- Solid understanding of ML concepts
- Strong programming skills in Python and experience with ML frameworks
- Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and monitoring tools
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Experience with Dataiku a plus

- Anticipated base salary range of ($145,000 - $174,000) with potential bonus eligibility
