About The Position

The Gift Shop Supervisor provides direction to Gift Shop Clerk/Cashiers and Leads and ensures AAA Four Diamond service standards are provided to Guests and Team Members. The Supervisor works with the Spa & Retail Operations Manager and Gift Shop Assistant Manager to develop Leads and Cashiers so they perform their responsibilities in accordance with established Gift Shop policies, procedures, and objectives. All responsibilities must be performed in accordance with Company standards, policies, and procedures.

Requirements

Two years of gift shop or other retail experience preferred.
One year of supervisory experience in a gift shop or other retail environment preferred.
Proficiency in inventory tracking and retail systems.
Ability to understand basic accounting functions.
Proficient math skills.
Basic computer skills preferred.
Organized and detail-oriented.
Ability to handle Guest opportunities.
Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members, and Management, both verbally and in writing.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Must be able to obtain a UAIC Tribal Gaming License.
Must have normal or corrected vision, be able to see color, and distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols.
Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
Must be able to stand and move around the gift shop for the duration of the shift.
Must be able to reach up to six feet, with or without assistance.
Must be able to climb and use a stepladder when necessary.
Must have the manual dexterity to use job-related equipment.

Responsibilities

Practice, support, and promote Thunder Valley Casino Resort’s “ELITE” service mission and demonstrate AAA Four Diamond service standards.
Manage daily retail staff, including Leads, Cashiers, and floor team members.
Ensure merchandise is clean, display-ready, and aligned with fluctuating supply and demand.
Arrange store displays to stimulate sales and maintain AAA Four Diamond standards.
Provide a safe and clean store environment for Team Members and customers.
Assist with responding to Guest questions and opportunities.
Assist Team Members with stocking merchandise and serving Guests.
Ensure Team Members monitor merchandise to prevent theft and spoilage.
Develop rapport with Guests to encourage repeat visits and sales, and coach Team Members to do the same.
Coach and develop Team Members to achieve expected goals, communicate department expectations, and maintain an approachable demeanor.
Hold Team Members equally accountable for Thunder Valley Casino Resort and Gift Shop policies and procedures.
Foster a success-oriented, accountable environment.
Conduct daily huddles outlining activities and expectations to help Team Members achieve and maintain AAA Four Diamond standards.
Use point-of-sale and inventory systems to record sales figures for data analysis and forward planning under the direction of the Spa & Retail Operations Manager and Gift Shop Assistant Manager.
Assist the Spa & Retail Operations Manager and Gift Shop Assistant Manager with recruiting, selecting, and training Team Members.
Participate in purchasing, merchandising, and inventory management.
Assist with developing and implementing marketing and business plans related to Gift Shop operations.
