The General Manager is responsible for everything that happens during a shift, including cost, inventory, and cash controls, customer relations, staffing, paperwork, food management, scheduling, store cleanliness, marketing, and profitability. The manager sets an example for the crew, follows all policies and procedures, and expects the same from team members. The role also includes general store team member duties such as operating equipment, stocking ingredients, preparing products, processing telephone orders, taking inventory, completing paperwork, and cleaning equipment and the facility. On-the-job orientation and training are provided. The role may involve delivery-related tasks, including delivering products and flyers within a designated area. Delivery duties require a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record and access to an insured vehicle that can be used for deliveries. Work involves varied in-store and outdoor conditions, including changing temperatures, food odors, cornmeal dust, cramped spaces, hot surfaces and tools, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts. Physical tasks may include standing, walking, sitting for paperwork, lifting and carrying supplies, pushing or pulling trays, climbing stairs or ladders, bending, crouching, reaching, and driving. The position requires communication, numerical, computer-entry, navigation, coordination, and decision-making abilities, as well as the ability to work alone or with others and under stress.
