General Manager, Residential Home Services

Sitreps•Orlando, FL
•Onsite

About The Position

The General Manager will run an established residential air conditioning, plumbing, and electrical business serving homeowners across Central Florida. The role owns the business’s P&L, leadership team, operating standards, and growth trajectory in the Greater Orlando market. The business is part of a national, private equity-backed home-services platform that provides shared services, operating playbooks, and capital for growth. The platform’s industry background is not required; the employer is seeking an operator with a record of owning results and leading teams performing physical work. The General Manager will lead service and installation operations across multiple trades, implement and verify adoption of the platform’s SOPs, and oversee licensing, permitting, safety, and fleet matters across the service area. The position is onsite in the Sanford / Seminole County area of Greater Orlando. Compensation is a base salary of $180,000 to $220,000, plus an annual bonus and long-term incentive.

Requirements

  • A track record of owning a P&L or running an operation where results were measured, in any industry.
  • Experience leading frontline teams, such as crews, technicians, or operators, and earning their trust.
  • A self-directed operating approach: finding solutions, implementing them, and verifying they worked.
  • Financial fluency, including the ability to read a P&L, identify problems, and address them.
  • A bias toward action and an ownership mentality rather than focusing on reporting activity.
  • Based in or willing to relocate to the Orlando area.

Nice To Haves

  • Multi-site or general management experience in home services, field services, or another service business.
  • Prior military leadership followed by civilian operating experience.

Responsibilities

  • Own the P&L, including revenue, gross margin, EBITDA, and growth targets.
  • Manage the service and installation model, including call booking, dispatch efficiency, technician productivity, average ticket, close rate, callbacks, and membership growth.
  • Lead service and installation managers, dispatchers, customer service representatives, and field technicians through hiring, coaching, and accountability.
  • Oversee technician recruiting, retention, and pay structure in a competitive Florida labor market.
  • Install the platform’s playbook by deploying proven SOPs and confirming their adoption.
  • Oversee licensing, permitting, safety, and fleet across the service area.
  • Conduct forecasting, budgeting, and performance reviews with platform leadership.

Benefits

  • Annual bonus
  • Long-term incentive
