General Manager, Residential Home Services
About The Position
The General Manager will run an established residential air conditioning and plumbing business serving homeowners across Florida’s Space Coast. The role owns the business’s P&L, leadership team, and brand trajectory, with responsibility for setting and maintaining operating standards and driving growth. The business is part of a national, private equity-backed home-services platform that provides shared services, playbooks, and capital. Industry experience is not required; the search prioritizes candidates who have owned results and led teams performing physical work. The position is on site in Brevard County, Florida.
Requirements
- A track record of owning a P&L or running an operation where results were measured, in any industry.
- Experience leading frontline teams, such as crews, technicians, or operators, and earning their trust.
- A self-directed operating approach, including finding solutions, implementing them, and verifying they worked.
- Financial fluency, including the ability to read a P&L, identify problems, and address them.
- A bias to action and an ownership mentality rather than a focus on reporting activity.
- Based in or willing to relocate to the Space Coast.
Nice To Haves
- Multi-site or general management experience in home services, field services, or another service business.
- Prior military leadership followed by civilian operating experience.
Responsibilities
- Own the full P&L, including revenue, gross margin, EBITDA, and growth targets.
- Manage the service and installation model, including call booking, dispatch efficiency, technician productivity, average ticket, close rate, callbacks, and membership growth.
- Lead service and installation managers, dispatchers, customer service representatives, and field technicians through hiring, coaching, and performance standards.
- Recruit and retain technicians and manage pay structures in a competitive Florida labor market.
- Deploy the platform’s proven standard operating procedures and confirm their adoption.
- Oversee licensing, permitting, safety, and fleet across the service area.
- Forecast, budget, and conduct performance reviews with platform leadership.
Benefits
- $180,000 to $220,000 base salary.
