General Manager III - Distribution
About The Position
The General Manager III oversees warehouse operations for DHL Supply Chain, ensuring efficient and accurate receiving, storing, and shipping. The role develops strategies to optimize processes, control costs, and improve productivity, while leading Operations Managers and staff and fostering a safe, productive, and supportive team culture. The General Manager also manages vendor relationships, uses warehouse systems and technology to monitor inventory and performance, and ensures operations comply with safety regulations, company policies, and commercial agreements. This role is accountable for site profit and loss and customer relationships. It maintains close daily contact with customers, prepares and presents Monthly and Quarterly Business Reviews, and analyzes warehouse performance, inventory, and other metrics to support decisions and continuous improvement. The position requires knowledge of Customer SAP v23 for Ingredients and Components and DHL Blue Yonder 2023.1 for Finished Goods. Requirements
- At least 5 years of managerial or supervisory experience.
- At least 2 years of experience in a supply chain, warehousing, or distribution environment.
- Staff management experience.
- Knowledge of Customer SAP v23 for Ingredients and Components and DHL Blue Yonder 2023.1 for Finished Goods.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in Third Party Logistics (3PL) and/or Contract Logistics.
- P&L management experience.
- Project management experience.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) experience.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, and shipping goods efficiently and accurately.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize warehouse processes, minimize costs, and maximize productivity.
- Lead, motivate, coach, and support Operations Managers and staff, while developing a strong team culture.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies, overseeing operational and personnel activities to maintain a safe, clean, and efficient facility.
- Use warehouse management systems, automation, and other technology to track inventory, monitor performance metrics, and identify areas for improvement.
- Manage vendor relationships and ensure cost-effective services and supplies while managing the site in accordance with the commercial agreement.
- Prepare and analyze reports on warehouse performance, inventory levels, and other key metrics to inform decisions and drive continuous improvement.
- Maintain close daily contact with customers to build strong relationships and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Manage the site's profit and loss.
- Prepare and present Monthly and Quarterly Business Reviews to the customer, leveraging team collaboration.
