About The Position

The General Manager I oversees warehouse operations at DHL Supply Chain, ensuring efficient and accurate receiving, storage, and shipping. The role develops strategies to optimize processes, reduce costs, and improve productivity, while leading Operations Managers and staff and fostering a strong team culture and safe, clean, productive work environment. The General Manager uses warehouse management systems, automation, and other technology to track inventory and performance, identify improvement opportunities, and prepare reports that support decisions and continuous improvement. The role manages vendor relationships and site operations in accordance with the commercial agreement, leads daily customer relationships, and is responsible for site profit and loss. The General Manager also collaborates with the team to prepare and present monthly and quarterly business reviews to customers. DHL Supply Chain North America operates more than 500 facilities, employs over 50,000 associates, and operates in more than 150 million square feet of space. Requirements

At least 5 years of managerial or supervisory experience.
At least 2 years of experience in a supply chain, warehousing, or distribution environment.
Staff management experience.

Nice To Haves

Experience in Third Party Logistics (3PL) and/or Contract Logistics.
Profit and loss management experience.
Project management experience.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) experience.

Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, and shipping goods efficiently and accurately.
Develop and implement strategies to optimize warehouse processes, minimize costs, and maximize productivity.
Lead, motivate, coach, and support Operations Managers and staff, while developing a strong team culture.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies, and oversee operational and personnel activities to maintain a safe, clean, and efficient facility.
Use warehouse management systems, automation, and other technology to track inventory, monitor performance metrics, and identify improvement opportunities.
Manage vendor relationships and ensure cost-effective services and supplies while operating the site in accordance with the commercial agreement.
Prepare and analyze reports on warehouse performance, inventory levels, and other key metrics to inform decisions and drive continuous improvement.
Maintain close daily contact with customers to build strong relationships and ensure customer satisfaction.
Manage the site's profit and loss, which is directly influenced by customer relationships.
Prepare and present monthly and quarterly business reviews to customers, leveraging team collaboration.
