About The Position

Blue Chip Pros is hiring a General Cleaner to perform cleaning activities at the assigned facility, keeping it clean, sanitary, and orderly, and completing other tasks related to the assignment. The role includes cleaning rooms, bathrooms, floors, public common areas, food court spaces, and exterior grounds; restocking dispensers; removing trash; and inspecting completed work. The cleaner is also expected to provide courteous customer service, work quietly, maintain a neat personal appearance, report problems to a supervisor, and carry out other assigned duties, which may include floor care and carpet cleaning.

Requirements

Knowledge of basic janitorial work, methods, materials, and equipment.
Knowledge of basic safe work practices and the use of toxic and non-toxic chemicals in accordance with MSDS sheets.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions and communicate sufficiently with coworkers and supervisors.
Ability to operate powered and non-powered janitorial equipment.
Ability to interpret written instructions and warning labels on cleaning chemicals.
Ability to maintain the physical condition required to perform assigned duties.
Ability to walk, stand, or sit for extended periods.
Ability to lift and carry equipment, supplies, and trash weighing 1–30 lbs.
Ability to push and pull using both hands and arms while exerting 5–35 lbs of force.
Ability to climb stairs and ladders while cleaning upper areas and drapes.
Ability to bend, twist, and balance at the waist, knees, and neck throughout the shift; kneel, crouch, or crawl while cleaning low areas or retrieving supplies.
Ability to reach, handle, grasp, and finger while operating equipment and tools and cleaning surfaces; overhead reaching is required throughout the shift.
Sight, depth perception, and hand-eye coordination sufficient to perform cleaning tasks, operate equipment, and maintain safety standards.

Responsibilities

High-dust surfaces above shoulder height, including lights, vents, curtain tips, and ledges.
Sanitize surfaces below shoulder height and spot-clean fingerprints, smudges, and windows using appropriate cleaning solutions.
Clean bathrooms, including sinks and toilets; check and refill soap and paper dispensers as needed.
Empty trash cans, clean them if they contain liquid, and replace liners.
Dust mop or vacuum floors, including beneath furniture, and clean restroom floors as assigned.
Clean exterior areas, including ash urns, trash cans, sidewalks, flower beds, curb lines, parking lots, benches, vending machines, and public-area glass; remove gum and spot-clean spills.
Dust mop and spot mop hallways; clean glass and planters; check corners and window areas for dirt and cobwebs.
Clean and sanitize food-court tables, replace chairs, remove trash, clean trays using the tray power washer, and police outdoor eating areas.
Sanitize floors using the proper germicidal solution, working from the back of the room toward the exit.
Inspect completed rooms, check furniture placement, and correct issues as needed.
Clean halls, lobbies, stairs, water fountains, and furniture; perform wall spotting and high dusting daily.
Knock before entering an occupied room, assist customers courteously or refer them to someone who can help, and work quietly.
Report broken or out-of-order items and unfinished assignments to a supervisor.
Stay in the assigned work area unless directed elsewhere and maintain a clean, neat personal appearance.
Perform other duties as assigned or directed by a supervisor or Account Manager, potentially including floor stripping and waxing, carpet extraction and bonneting, and floor auto-scrubbing and buffing.
