About The Position

Blue Chip Pros is hiring a General Cleaner to clean and maintain assigned facilities in a clean, sanitary, and orderly condition and perform other related duties. The role includes cleaning rooms and bathrooms, maintaining floors, caring for grounds and public areas, and cleaning food-court spaces. Cleaners follow established procedures and use appropriate cleaning solutions and equipment. The position also requires courteous customer service, quiet and professional conduct, reporting facility issues to a supervisor, and completing other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

Knowledge of basic janitorial work, methods, materials, equipment, and safe work practices.
Knowledge of the use of toxic and non-toxic chemicals, including following MSDS sheets.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions and warning labels.
Ability to communicate sufficiently with coworkers and supervisors.
Ability to operate powered and non-powered janitorial equipment.
Ability to maintain the physical condition needed for the assigned duties, including prolonged walking, standing, or sitting; lifting and carrying equipment, supplies, and trash weighing 1–30 pounds; pushing and pulling with 5–35 pounds of force; climbing stairs and ladders; bending, twisting, balancing, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, grasping, and fingering.
Ability to use sight, depth perception, and hand-eye coordination for cleaning tasks and safe operation of equipment and tools.

Responsibilities

High-dust surfaces above shoulder height, including lights, curtain tips, vents, ledges, and window areas.
Sanitize and spot-clean surfaces, remove fingerprints and smudges, and spot-clean windows using appropriate solutions.
Clean bathrooms, including sinks and toilets; check and refill soap and paper dispensers as needed.
Empty trash cans, replace liners, and wipe cans when needed.
Dust-mop or vacuum rooms, including under furniture, and clean up and dispose of collected dust.
Clean and check exterior areas, including ash urns, sidewalks, flower beds, curb lines, parking lots, benches, vending machines, and public-area glass; remove gum and spot-clean spills.
Maintain public common areas by dust-mopping and spot-mopping hallways, cleaning glass and planters, and checking for cobwebs and debris.
Clean and sanitize food-court tables, handle trash and dirty trays, operate the tray washer, stack clean trays, and police outside eating areas.
Sanitize floors, working from the back of the room and mopping under furniture and behind doors.
Inspect completed work, check furniture placement, and make corrections as needed.
Clean halls, lobbies, stairs, water fountains, and furniture, and perform wall spotting and high dusting daily.
Knock before entering an occupied room; assist customers courteously or refer questions to someone who can help.
Report broken or out-of-order items to a supervisor, remain in the assigned work area unless directed otherwise, and report incomplete assignments at shift end.
Maintain a clean and neat personal appearance and work quietly.
Perform other assigned duties, which may include floor stripping and waxing, carpet extraction and bonneting, and floor auto-scrubbing and buffing.
