About The Position

Blue Chip Pros is hiring a General Cleaner to perform cleaning activities at Macy’s Westmoreland Mall in Greensburg. The role keeps assigned buildings and facilities clean, sanitary, and orderly, and may include other tasks related to the assignment. Duties include cleaning rooms, bathrooms, floors, public common areas, food court areas, and exterior grounds; checking work and correcting issues; and providing courteous service to customers. Other duties may be assigned by a supervisor or Account Manager, including floor stripping and waxing, carpet extraction and bonneting, and floor auto-scrubbing and buffing.

Requirements

Knowledge of basic janitorial work, methods, materials, and equipment.
Knowledge of basic safe work practices and the use of toxic and non-toxic chemicals according to MSDS sheets.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions, including written instructions and warning labels on cleaning chemicals.
Ability to communicate sufficiently with coworkers and supervisors.
Ability to operate powered and non-powered janitorial equipment.
Ability to maintain the physical condition needed to perform assigned duties, including extended walking, standing, or sitting; lifting and carrying 1–30 pounds; pushing or pulling with 5–35 pounds of force; climbing stairs and ladders; bending, twisting, balancing, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching overhead, and handling and grasping equipment and supplies.
Adequate sight, depth perception, and hand-eye coordination for cleaning tasks, equipment operation, and safety.

Responsibilities

High-dust surfaces above shoulder height, including lights, vents, ledges, and window areas.
Sanitize surfaces below shoulder height and spot-clean fingerprints, smudges, and windows.
Clean bathrooms, including sinks and toilets, and check and refill soap and paper dispensers as needed.
Empty trash cans, replace liners, and wipe cans if they contain liquid.
Dust mop or vacuum floors, including under furniture, and sanitize floors using the appropriate germicidal solution.
Clean exterior areas several times during the day, including ash urns, trash cans, sidewalks, flower beds, curb lines, parking lots, benches, vending machines, and public-area glass; remove gum and spot-clean spills.
Dust mop and spot mop public hallways, clean glass, maintain planters, and check for cobwebs and debris.
Clean and sanitize food court tables, spot-clean spills, empty trash cans, return chairs to tables, wash and stack trays, and police outside eating areas.
Inspect completed rooms, review cleaning steps, check furniture placement, and make corrections as needed.
Clean halls, lobbies, stairs, water fountains, and furniture, and perform wall spotting and high dusting daily.
Knock before entering occupied rooms; interact with customers courteously and refer questions when appropriate.
Report broken or out-of-order items to a supervisor, work quietly, remain in the assigned work area unless directed otherwise, maintain a neat appearance, and report unfinished assignments at the end of the shift.
Perform other assigned duties, which may include floor stripping and waxing, carpet extraction and bonneting, and floor auto-scrubbing and buffing.
