About The Position
The Home Commission Associate is responsible for driving customer service and profitable sales growth in the home department. The associate uses product knowledge and enthusiasm for service to engage customers, help them choose products, build clientele, and increase sales. The position also includes merchandise and inventory operations, pricing and signing, keeping current with product trends, and meeting performance standards. In addition to a competitive wage, the role offers 2% commission on net sales of qualified merchandise.
Responsibilities
- Approach customers in a friendly manner, determine their needs, and help them make decisions about products or services.
- Explain key product attributes to generate customer interest and build clientele.
- Discuss care and protection plans and suggest additional products.
- Participate in inventory processes, Merchandise Transfer Out, Return to Vendor, Return to Warehouse, and Defective Merchandise Transfer Out activities.
- Complete pricing and signing processes in specialty businesses.
- Stay informed about new trends and styles through industry publications and communications.
- Participate in ongoing technical skills development through company- or vendor-provided training and skill practice.
- Meet established performance standards, including shrink and safety initiatives, the iCAP program, product and service sales, customer service, profit, productivity, and attendance.
- Solve problems and make decisions that support sales, profit, and customer service; work efficiently and effectively.
- Provide excellent customer service, build positive and respectful relationships, and take accountability for actions and outcomes.
- Look for ways to improve the customer experience and act with confidence, energy, and urgency.
