About The Position

Blue Chip Pros is hiring a General Cleaner to perform a variety of cleaning activities at the assigned facility, keeping it clean, sanitary, and orderly. The role includes cleaning rooms, restrooms, floors, public common areas, the food court, and outside grounds, as well as customer service and reporting facility issues to a supervisor. Other duties may be assigned by a supervisor or Account Manager, including floor stripping and waxing, carpet extraction and bonneting, and floor scrubbing and buffing.

Requirements

Knowledge of basic janitorial work, methods, materials, and equipment.
Knowledge of basic safe work practices and the use of toxic and non-toxic chemicals according to MSDS sheets.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions and interpret written instructions and warning labels on cleaning chemicals.
Ability to communicate sufficiently with coworkers and supervisors.
Ability to operate powered and non-powered janitorial equipment.
Ability to maintain the physical condition necessary to perform assigned duties, including prolonged walking, standing, or sitting; lifting and carrying 1–30 pounds; pushing and pulling with 5–35 pounds of force; climbing stairs and ladders; bending, twisting, balancing, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, grasping, and fingering.
Sight, depth perception, and hand-eye coordination sufficient to perform cleaning tasks, maintain safety standards, and operate equipment and tools.

Responsibilities

High dust surfaces above shoulder height, including lights, door tops, curtain tips, vents, and ledges.
Sanitize surfaces below shoulder height and spot-clean fingerprints, smudges, and windows using appropriate solutions.
Clean bathrooms, including sinks, toilets, soap dispensers, and paper dispensers; refill dispensers as needed.
Empty trash cans, wipe them when necessary, and replace liners.
Dust or vacuum floors, including beneath furniture, and clean restroom floors.
Maintain outside areas by cleaning ash urns and trash cans, policing sidewalks, flower beds, curb lines, and parking lots, spot-cleaning spills, removing gum, wiping benches and vending machines, and cleaning window ledges and public glass.
Maintain public common areas by dust mopping and spot mopping hallways, cleaning glass and planters, and checking for cobwebs and debris.
Clean and sanitize food court tables, return chairs to their place, spot-clean spills, empty trash cans, collect and wash trays using a tray power washer, and police outside eating areas.
Sanitize floors using the proper germicidal solution, working from the back of the room toward the exit and cleaning beneath furniture and behind doors.
Inspect completed rooms, review cleaning steps, check furniture placement, and make corrections as needed.
Clean halls, lobbies, stairs, water fountains, and furniture; perform wall spot cleaning and high dusting daily.
Knock before entering occupied rooms, respond to customers courteously or refer them to someone who can help, and report broken or out-of-order items to a supervisor.
Work quietly, remain in the assigned work area unless directed otherwise, maintain a neat personal appearance, and report incomplete assignments to a supervisor at shift end.
Perform other assigned duties, which may include floor stripping and waxing, carpet extraction and bonneting, and floor scrubbing and buffing.
