About The Position

The Frozen Foods Manager directs and controls the Frozen Department to achieve sales and profit objectives while providing friendly, courteous, and helpful customer service. The manager trains, schedules, supervises, and assigns duties to Frozen Food Clerks and Helper Clerks; maintains inventory and stock; places and checks orders; and ensures products are rotated and expired items removed daily. The role also includes stocking cases and displays, keeping freezers and department areas clean, handling deliveries and cardboard, checking and filling the ice machine, and addressing product and case issues during freezer malfunctions or power outages. The manager may work as a cashier or checker during peak times. The position is primarily indoors, with some outside work, and involves working in freezer temperatures as low as –20°F. It requires frequent movement around the store and handling, carrying, pushing, and pulling products and equipment. The role is safety-sensitive and requires compliance with company policies and applicable laws. Requirements

Ability to follow company customer service procedures.
Demonstrated prior customer service skills or related experience.

Ability to perform the physical demands described, including standing and walking constantly; lifting and carrying items; pushing and pulling carts or pallet jacks; and reaching, bending, and other movements.
Ability to use peripheral vision and depth perception to move equipment through store areas with customers, and near vision to read price sheets and product labels.
Ability to communicate with customers and co-workers, answer pages, use the telephone, and exchange information.
Permits or licenses may vary depending on store location and state or county requirements.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service according to employer procedures and company policy.
Train, schedule, supervise, and assign duties to Frozen Food workers to ensure appropriate staffing.
Resolve customer concerns about sales, service, products, or the Frozen Food area.
Perform daily inventory and order supplies to maintain adequate stock.
Write frozen food orders in the order guide book and check incoming orders for completeness.
Maintain appropriate stock, minimize out-of-stock products, and replenish coolers, freezers, cases, and end displays.
Rotate products and remove expired stock daily.
Unload boards and stack them on pallets or six-wheel carts; move them to display areas and load products into cases.
Keep the department, display areas, and freezers clean; clean spills and restock freezer items for other departments.
Break down cardboard and place it in the bailer.
Check the ice machine daily and fill it as needed.
In the event of a freezer malfunction or power outage, remove products, clean the case, and replace or restock products.
May function as a cashier or checker during peak times.
Perform other duties as assigned.
