About The Position

The Frozen Food Supervisor performs frozen food department responsibilities while working with and reporting to the Grocery Manager. The role assists in directing department operations, including supervising and training personnel, maintaining product quality, ordering merchandise, and supporting grocery department stocking, merchandising, and inventory standards. The position provides friendly, courteous customer service and helps maintain a safe and well-organized department. Work takes place in a temperature-controlled store, with exposure to cold cases, coolers, freezers, loading and receiving areas, and occasional outdoor temperatures. This is a safety-sensitive position because some duties could affect the health or safety of the employee or others.

Ability to interact effectively with personnel at all levels, customers, vendors, and the public.
Ability to frequently reach, lift, stack, and maneuver objects weighing up to approximately 80 pounds, from floor level to overhead.
Ability to push and pull fully loaded hand trucks, six-wheel carts, and pallet jacks.
Ability to stand, walk, and move rapidly for long periods; frequently bend, stoop, twist, and turn; and possibly climb ladders.
Mental alertness to complete work safely and accurately, including repetitious work.
Knowledge of basic mathematics and ability to learn inventory control, pricing, merchandising, and shipping and receiving procedures.
Ability to judge and react to business activity.
Ability to use cleaning supplies and chemicals from time to time.

Responsibilities

Assist the Grocery Manager in directing frozen food department operations, including supervising and training personnel.
Maintain the quality of frozen grocery products; stock, rotate, face, and discard outdated or spoiled products; and maintain the backroom.
Clean and maintain shelves, including dusting them.
Assist with ordering, receiving, storing, stocking, inventory control, and building displays.
Promote enthusiastic customer awareness and safe, friendly, courteous service; use suggestive selling and other sales techniques.
Assist the Grocery Manager with planning and organizing regular and seasonal merchandise requirements and special sales needs.
Order frozen merchandise.
Train, teach, and coach dairy stocking and conditioning standards.
Assist with dry grocery order writing, grocery stocking and conditioning, new items, and the reclamation process.
Manage backroom inventory, conditions, and standards.
Assist with grocery department merchandising and display building.
Comply with Company policies, including attendance, grooming standards, and dress codes.
