About The Position

The Frozen Food Supervisor performs frozen food department responsibilities while working with and reporting to the Grocery Manager. The role assists in directing department operations, supervising and training personnel, maintaining product quality and department standards, and supporting grocery ordering, merchandising, inventory, and customer service. It also involves stocking, rotating, facing, and conditioning products; removing outdated or spoiled items; maintaining shelves and the backroom; and assisting with grocery department activities. The position requires effective communication, leadership, interpersonal skills, composure, and customer awareness. It involves frequent physical activity, including lifting and maneuvering objects up to approximately 80 pounds, and work in a temperature-controlled store with exposure to cold cases, coolers, freezers, cleaning chemicals, and varying temperatures in receiving and outdoor areas. This is identified as a safety-sensitive position.

Ability to push and pull fully loaded hand trucks, six-wheel carts, and pallet jacks.
Ability to stand, walk, and move rapidly for long periods, and bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently; may climb ladders.
Mental alertness to complete work safely and accurately, including repetitive work.
Knowledge of basic mathematics and ability to learn inventory control, pricing, merchandising, and shipping and receiving procedures.
Ability to judge and react to business activity.

Responsibilities

Assist the Grocery Manager in directing frozen food department operations, including supervising and training personnel.
Maintain the quality and condition of frozen grocery products; stock, rotate, face, and condition products; and discard outdated or spoiled products.
Maintain the backroom and clean, dust, and maintain shelves.
Assist with ordering, receiving, storing, stocking, inventory control, and building displays.
Encourage customer awareness and provide safe, friendly, and courteous service; use suggestive selling and other sales techniques.
Assist the Grocery Manager with planning and organizing regular and seasonal merchandise requirements and special sales needs.
Order frozen merchandise.
Train, teach, and coach dairy stocking and conditioning standards.
Assist with dry grocery order writing, grocery stocking and conditioning, new items, and the reclamation process.
Manage backroom inventory, conditions, and standards.
Assist with grocery department merchandising and building displays.
Comply with Company policies, including attendance, grooming standards, and dress codes.
