About The Position

The Front Desk Supervisor is a full-time, working supervisor in the Morris Inn’s Hospitality department at the University of Notre Dame. This role balances administrative oversight with direct guest service, including checking guests in and out and monitoring the lobby and front drive. The supervisor mentors Guest Service Associates and helps maintain high service standards across shifts. The position also supports the management team with VIP arrivals and the needs of University constituents.

Requirements

Ability to manage time effectively with minimal supervision.
Excellent communication and listening skills.
Ability to stand for extended periods, up to six hours at a time.

Responsibilities

Perform Guest Service Associate duties, including guest registration, room assignments, and check-outs.
Manage guest billing, room changes, and service recovery in real time.
Monitor the lobby and front drive to support efficient guest flow and appropriate staff positioning during peak periods.
Assist with parking and valet coordination during high-volume periods or staffing gaps.
Train new Guest Service Associates on the Morris Inn service journey and technical systems.
Coach associates and provide immediate feedback on service skills and technical accuracy.
Update training checklists and communicate and reinforce departmental standard operating procedures.
Help the Room Operations Coordinator prepare for VIP arrivals, including room inspections and placement of personalized amenities.
Serve as the primary contact for VIPs and University constituents when the Operations Coordinator or Managers are unavailable.
Communicate special requests and high-profile guest preferences to relevant departments.
Assist Operations Managers with desk-related administrative tasks, including inventory, supply ordering, and shift reporting.
