About The Position

High Plainz Strains is hiring a full-time Front Desk Associate for its Garden City dispensary, serving customers from the Greeley area through retail and drive-thru service. This entry-level cannabis retail role organizes customer traffic and handles a core compliance responsibility: identifying and checking in customers according to required procedures. The position is generally scheduled for 35 hours per week and is on-site. The store operates seven days a week, so the schedule may include opening and morning shifts, weekends, and holidays. Base pay is $15.16 per hour plus a portion of tips generated by budtenders working during the employee’s shift; tips vary and are not guaranteed. The Front Desk employee connects customers arriving at the store with the retail team. The role involves customer check-in, ID verification, phone calls, basic questions, online orders, customer-flow coordination, communication with budtenders and store leadership, and support for the sales floor. Employees are expected to follow Colorado cannabis regulations and company procedures consistently, maintain organized customer areas, and involve a supervisor when appropriate. The store can be busy, with lobby, online-order, drive-thru, and phone activity happening at the same time. Slower periods may be used for organizing, cleaning, learning products, handling online orders, and other appropriate retail tasks. Previous cannabis experience and product knowledge are helpful but not required; training is available. Relevant experience may include retail, restaurants, hospitality, reception, grocery, banking, convenience stores, customer service, or similar work. Applicants must be at least 21 years old. Employees must have an active Colorado Marijuana Enforcement Division (MED) Employee License before beginning regulated cannabis work. Having a license when applying is helpful but not required; employees are responsible for obtaining, maintaining, and paying for the required license. Full-time employees can access medical, dental, vision, and supplemental insurance coverage, the Colorado SecureSavings retirement program, paid sick leave, and PTO/vacation beginning after six months. PTO increases with tenure, up to four weeks per year after five years. The company also offers performance and wage reviews, opportunities to learn additional retail responsibilities, and participation in its customer loyalty program. Employees who demonstrate proficiency, reliability, and good judgment may have opportunities to learn additional responsibilities or pursue other positions as openings become available; advancement is not guaranteed.
