Founder Content Marketer

ExaCare AI•New York, NY

About The Position

We’re hiring a Founder Content Marketer to work directly with Laird Russell, co-founder and CEO, on a content program built around him. The program will use Laird’s industry presence to earn the trust of people running post-acute care businesses and, over time, generate new business for exacare ai. The role shapes videos and podcast episodes, guides stories through editing, writes short- and long-form content, and maintains a high bar for research, specificity, and point of view. This is a high-leverage role on a small team. A contractor or agency production partner will handle filming, audio, and editing, allowing the role to focus on strategy, storytelling, and writing. The role works closely with the founder and collaborates with Content & Brand and Growth & Marketing, as well as production partners. It also involves traveling with Laird to recordings and industry events, building relationships with operators and guests, and representing the program in person.

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of experience in editorial, journalism, content, communications, or a similar role, including meaningful time spent in or around healthcare.
  • Deep understanding of the US healthcare system through health tech, healthcare journalism, policy, operations, or related work; ability to engage credibly with a skilled nursing CEO.
  • Exceptional writing and storytelling skills across long-form essays and short social posts, with stories grounded in specific people, decisions, and details.
  • Strong research and interview-preparation skills, including structuring conversations and developing questions that elicit substantive answers.
  • Strong editorial judgment and taste, with the ability to identify excellent content, cut material that does not belong, and cite examples of strong healthcare content.
  • Interest in how AI and software work, including LLMs and healthcare integrations, and ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical operators.
  • Experience working closely with a founder, executive, or public figure; ability to earn trust, provide direct feedback, and work around a demanding calendar.
  • Judgment and discretion when representing a CEO publicly, including knowing what to publish, what to hold, and when to ask.
  • Use of AI tools to research more efficiently and improve drafts, with awareness of their limitations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in skilled nursing, home health, hospice, another post-acute care setting, or extensive writing about these fields.
  • Experience launching or running a podcast, newsletter, or publication from zero.
  • Experience ghostwriting for a founder or executive.
  • Experience building an audience of one’s own.
  • Formal background in journalism.
  • Experience writing video scripts and talk tracks or producing audio or video content.
  • Comfort with early-stage messiness and chaos.

Responsibilities

  • Develop episode concepts and guest wishlists; research guests and topics in depth; and write question lines and talk tracks for Laird.
  • Ensure each episode has a clear arc, point of view, and useful takeaway for the audience.
  • Draft long- and short-form thought leadership, including blog posts, articles, social media posts, and newsletters, for the post-acute audience.
  • Apply editorial standards focused on differentiated perspectives, technology and AI, patient and operator outcomes, human stories, and originality.
  • Partner with Content & Brand and Growth & Marketing on the program’s brand, voice, editorial standards, web hub, and social media channels.
  • Work with video and audio production partners on scripting, episode structure, clips, and quality control.
  • Travel with Laird to recordings and industry events, build relationships with operators and guests, and represent the program credibly in person.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary and equity in a high-growth startup.
  • Flexible PTO; take what you need.
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Company off-sites.
  • High-achieving team, including ex-Amazon engineers and alumni of Bain, BCG, Goldman Sachs, and more.
