About The Position
The Senior Technician performs vehicle repair and maintenance in accordance with dealership and factory standards, building Customer loyalty by developing trust and ensuring confidence in AutoNation as a caregiver for vehicle safety and reliability. The role offers factory training, OEM certification support, state-of-the-art service bays and tools, and opportunities for career advancement across AutoNation’s nationwide network. Pay is $27.00–$50.00 per hour flat rate; pay within this range may depend on skills, education, experience, and other qualifications. Tech rate overrides and longevity bonuses may be available based on tenure and certification.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of experience as an automotive technician.
- Automotive technical training, varying based on store needs.
- Attention to detail.
- Organization and follow-up skills.
- Valid in-state driver’s license and an acceptable, safe driving record that is maintained.
- Passion for cars and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Perform vehicle repair and maintenance work listed on repair orders efficiently and accurately, according to dealership and factory standards.
- Communicate regularly with the Parts Department and Service Advisors to manage production and customer communication.
- Diagnose vehicle malfunctions and perform repairs when authorized by the Customer.
- Conduct multi-point inspections and make recommendations to support vehicle safety and reliability.
- Document work performed on each vehicle on the repair order.
- Maintain an inventory of normal Technician tools not inventoried by the Service department as special tools.
- Keep abreast of factory technical bulletins and participate in factory-sponsored training classes as appropriate.
- Provide an exceptional customer experience to drive loyalty.
