About The Position

Morrison Healthcare is hiring a full-time Food Unit Lead at Mayo Clinic Harwick in Rochester, Minnesota. The role coordinates food-service employees and helps create an enjoyable dining experience for customers, staff, and visitors. It oversees and participates in food and beverage preparation and service, ensuring company standards for presentation, sanitation, safety, and portion control. The position also supports menu planning, meal-service efficiency, employee training and scheduling, reporting, cash handling, ordering supplies, and facility sanitation.

Requirements

• Previous cooking experience.
• Previous management or supervisory experience.
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Provide detailed, one-on-one customer service.
• Oversee and participate in food and beverage preparation and service in accordance with company standards for presentation, sanitation, safety, and portion control.
• Help plan menus.
• Ensure timely, efficient meal service and supervise meal service.
• Respond to customer complaints in person and by email.
• Train employees; assign and coordinate their work to promote efficiency and excellent food and service.
• Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules, and expedite workflow.
• Complete required daily, weekly, and monthly reports, including inventory, cash, production, payroll, and timekeeping records.
• Handle cash according to the Food Accounting Manual, including deposits, petty cash, and change funds.
• Order food and other necessary supplies from approved sources or purveyors.
• Direct and participate in facility and employee sanitation and safety in accordance with company standards and government regulations.
• Develop sanitation schedules and ensure employees follow them for kitchen and dining-area cleaning and washing utensils and equipment.
• Issue written and oral instructions.
• Help select and orient employees and oversee staff training in areas of responsibility.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
