About The Position

The Food Service Public is responsible for one or more functions performed in the cafeteria, kitchen, tray line, and coffee shop. Duties may include working on the serving line, serving items for catered events, operating a cash register, preparing salad bar items and desserts, and portioning food for sale or service. The employee maintains clean and orderly work areas and assists at retail stations as needed.

This is a full-time role at Shea Medical Center in Scottsdale, Arizona. Shifts are on varied days and run either 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. or 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Requirements

• Food Handlers Card certification is required.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• One year of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers promptly and courteously.
• Serve food from the serving line according to portion and appearance standards.
• Carve portions of meat for individual service.
• Cut, plate, and garnish desserts for service.
• Set up the serving area.
• Replenish self-service food items throughout service.
• Stock service areas with beverages, food items, condiments, and service ware.
• Operate the cash register and receive payment for food and beverage items.
• Clean and maintain the serving area, equipment, and serving counters.
• Remove food at the end of meal service and store it appropriately.
• Document required food-item tracking, temperature monitoring, and waste logs.
• Assist at retail stations as needed.
