About The Position

The Food Service Public performs one or more food-service functions in the cafeteria, kitchen, tray line, or coffee shop. Duties may include serving food on the serving line, serving catered events, operating a cash register, preparing salad bar items and desserts, and portioning food for sale or service. The position maintains clean and orderly work areas and assists at retail stations as needed. The role greets customers, serves food to portion and appearance standards, prepares and presents desserts, replenishes self-service items and stocks service areas. It also handles payments, cleans and maintains serving areas and equipment, stores food appropriately after service, and completes required food-item tracking, temperature-monitoring, or waste logs. The position is based at Shea Medical Center in Scottsdale, Arizona. The listed schedule is full-time, with shifts of 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m. and 1:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m. on varied days.

Requirements

Food handler card required.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED preferred.
One year of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Greet all customers promptly and courteously.
Serve foods from the serving line according to portion and appearance standards, including carving meat for individual service.
Cut, plate, and garnish dessert items and set up the serving area.
Replenish self-service food items and stock the service area with beverages, food, condiments, and service ware.
Receive payment for food and beverage items.
Clean and maintain serving areas, equipment, and counters.
Remove food at the end of meal service and store it appropriately.
Document required food-item tracking, temperature-monitoring, or waste logs.
Maintain clean and orderly work areas and assist at retail stations as needed.
