About The Position

Morrison Living is hiring a part-time Food Service Worker at The Towers at Tower Lane in New Haven, Connecticut. The role prepares, presents, and serves food, helping provide a friendly and efficient dining experience. Days and hours may vary; night and weekend availability is required. No prior experience is required. The fixed pay rate is $17.00 per hour.

The position is part of Morrison Living’s culinary team and supports food preparation, safe food storage, sanitation, inventory and cash controls, and customer service. Associates may be asked to perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• No prior experience is required.
• Night and weekend availability is required.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily, with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare fruits and vegetables by washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding them.
• Weigh and measure designated ingredients.
• Carry pans, kettles, and trays of food between work stations, the stove, and the refrigerator in accordance with safety standards.
• Store food in designated areas, following wrapping, dating, food safety, and rotation procedures.
• Clean work areas, equipment, and utensils.
• Distribute supplies, utensils, and portable equipment.
• Follow approved recipes and production standards to ensure quality, serving temperatures, and standard portion control.
• Serve customers in a friendly and efficient manner, following outlined steps of service.
• Resolve customer concerns and relay relevant information to a supervisor.
• Comply with company service standards and inventory and cash control procedures.
• Comply with sanitation and safety requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
