About The Position

The Food Service Worker prepares, presents, and serves food as needed at Felician University. The position involves food preparation, ingredient measurement, transporting food and supplies, proper food storage, cleaning, and customer service. The worker follows approved recipes and production standards, maintains portion control and serving temperatures, and complies with service, inventory, cash-control, sanitation, and safety requirements. The role is full-time, with a stated schedule of Monday through Thursday, 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. The posting notes that educational-facility food service needs may decline or cease during winter and summer breaks, which could result in unpaid periods or temporary layoff; depending on business needs, work may be required year-round, potentially at another location during breaks.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food by washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding fruits and vegetables.
• Weigh and measure designated ingredients.
• Carry pans, kettles, and trays of food to and from work stations, stoves, and refrigerators in accordance with safety standards.
• Store food in designated areas using wrapping, dating, food-safety, and rotation procedures.
• Clean work areas, equipment, and utensils.
• Distribute supplies, utensils, and portable equipment.
• Use approved food recipes and production standards to maintain quality, serving temperatures, and standard portion control.
• Serve customers in a friendly and efficient manner, following outlined steps of service.
• Resolve customer concerns and relay relevant information to the supervisor.
• Follow company service standards and inventory and cash-control procedures.
• Comply with sanitation and safety requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
