About The Position

The Food Service Supervisor oversees inmate labor and team members assisting with food service operations in a correctional facility. The role prepares and serves a variety of foods according to assigned work instructions and menus, using food preparation utensils and equipment. The position reports to a Food Service Director and is performed onsite inside a jail or correctional facility. The required schedule is 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., including some weekends and holidays. The employer offers a $250 bonus for completing the Rookie’s Fast Track Program within the first 60 days and provides access to DailyPay for earned wages.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Ability to work from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., including some weekends and holidays.
• Ability to lift, bend, push, kneel, walk, and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Manage inmate labor and team members in the kitchen during food preparation and service shifts.
• Serve food during planned meal schedules and according to department procedures.
• Use kitchen utensils and equipment to cook food according to recipes.
• Use appropriate utensils to serve menu portions that meet clients’ nutritional needs.
• Train other food service workers.
• Promote a healthy and safe work environment for employees and inmates.
• Perform other responsibilities as determined by the employer’s needs.
