About The Position
The Food Service Representative delivers patient trays during meal service within established time frames, ensuring therapeutic accuracy and standards for quality, freshness, taste, and appearance. The role also assists with food production and assembly processes. The position is full-time, scheduled from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on varied days at Shea Medical Center in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Food service experience in a healthcare environment.
- Food Handler’s Card.
Nice To Haves
- Technical training diploma or degree.
- Vocational or specialized training coursework in food and nutrition.
Responsibilities
- Deliver patient trays during meal service within established time frames while meeting therapeutic accuracy and quality, freshness, taste, and appearance standards.
- Announce themselves before entering patient rooms using AIDET protocols.
- Assist patients with their trays when requested.
- Provide patient-focused customer service using ICARE service protocols.
- Understand nutrition and discuss appropriate menu choices with patients to meet therapeutic diet requirements when needed.
- Respond promptly to nursing staff needs related to patient food care.
- Deliver tube feeds to the appropriate galley.
- Stock and restock the assigned tray-line workstation during meal service and at the end of the shift.
- Follow Maricopa County Health Department Food Code sanitation standards and maintain the assigned work area accordingly.
- Assist with food production and assembly processes.
