About The Position

Morrison Healthcare, a Compass Healthcare company, provides food and nutrition services to hospitals and healthcare systems across the country. The Patient Food Service Manager ensures patient satisfaction and good public relations through the safe and efficient use and allocation of resources. The manager oversees patient food service operations in accordance with medical direction, the patient population, and contract requirements, while supporting patient care and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

A bachelor’s degree in Food Services Technology/Management, Dietetics, or a related field, or an associate degree plus three years of directly related experience, is preferred.
A minimum of three years of acute or long-term care experience is preferred, depending on formal degree or training.
Willingness to participate in patient/resident satisfaction programs and activities.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of profit-and-loss accountability and contract-managed service experience is desirable.
Registered Dietitian, Registered Diet Technician, or Certified Dietary Manager certification is preferred.
ServSafe certification is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Establish goals and oversee implementation of patient food service needs based on medical direction, patient population, and contract requirements.
Plan and supervise patient food assembly and service.
Comply with dietary restrictions while ensuring optimal food preferences are met.
Comply with requirements of regulatory agencies, including federal and state agencies and The Joint Commission.
Participate in facility-wide and department Performance Improvement Programs and teams to improve processes and patient care.
Follow facility, department, and company safety policies and procedures, including occurrence reporting.
Perform other duties as assigned.
