About The Position
The Food Service Representative delivers patient trays during meal service within established time frames, ensuring therapeutic accuracy and meeting quality, freshness, taste, and appearance standards. The role also assists with food production and assembly processes.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Food Handler’s Card.
- Food service experience in a healthcare environment.
Nice To Haves
- Technical training diploma or degree.
- Vocational or specialized training coursework in food and nutrition.
Responsibilities
- Deliver patient trays within established meal-service time frames while ensuring therapeutic accuracy and food quality, freshness, taste, and appearance.
- Announce presence before entering patient rooms using AIDET protocols.
- Assist patients with their trays when requested.
- Provide patient-focused customer service using ICARE service protocols.
- Understand nutrition and discuss appropriate menu options with patients to meet therapeutic diet requirements when required.
- Respond promptly to nursing staff needs related to patient food care.
- Deliver tube feeds to the appropriate galley.
- Stock and restock the assigned tray-line workstation during meal service and at the end of the shift.
- Follow Maricopa County Health Department Food Code sanitation standards and maintain the assigned work area accordingly.
- Assist with food production and assembly processes.
