About The Position

The Food Service Manager is responsible for the proper and efficient operation of the food service department within company policy. The role is intended to ensure the department is profitable and maintains high standards of quality and customer service. Duties span general management, bookkeeping, human resources, security, merchandising, maintenance, safety, and promotion of the Huck’s Bucks Loyalty app. Management may revise this job description and require other tasks as circumstances change.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the food service department is open and ready for business during all scheduled operating hours.
• Schedule associates effectively to meet business demands using a fixed schedule.
• Provide customers with prompt, courteous service and ensure associates do the same.
• Communicate effectively with store associates and management.
• Follow federal, state, and local laws and ordinances applicable to department operations.
• Model appropriate conduct for other store associates and control variable departmental expenses.
• Ensure associates wear proper uniforms and provide prompt, courteous customer service.
• Complete paperwork accurately and on time; maintain inventory and loss within company guidelines; conduct inventories as directed; and ensure associates accurately record hours worked.
• Treat associates with dignity and respect, use appropriate personnel management techniques, ensure associates receive breaks, and advise the Store Manager of personnel situations or policy violations affecting store performance.
• Train new associates to perform their job duties properly.
• Ensure associate shift procedures are followed and maintain a safe shopping and working environment, including compliance with safety rules and use of protective equipment.
• Ensure the current sign program is posted when it begins and that current plan-o-grams are used; communicate special needs or requests to the Division Manager; and order merchandise to prevent out-of-stocks and maintain inventory levels as directed.
• Maintain food service appearance to company standards, keep display cases and glass clean, report maintenance problems requiring assistance to the Store Manager, and keep food service areas clean while following sanitation procedures.
• Ensure proper ladder use, compliance with lifting procedures, and use of wet-floor signs; report accidents promptly to the Store Manager and corporate office.
• Promote the Huck’s Bucks Loyalty app, communicate its benefits, monitor transactions for potential misuse of points or discounts, and help customers sign up and use the app for discounts and redemption.
