About The Position

The Food Service Manager is responsible for the proper and efficient operation of the Food Service Department within company policy, ensuring the department is profitable and maintains high standards of quality and customer service. The role includes managing daily operations, associates, inventory, bookkeeping, safety, merchandising, and department cleanliness, as well as promoting and assisting customers with the Huck’s Bucks Loyalty app.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the food service department is open and ready for business during all scheduled operating hours.
• Schedule associates effectively to meet business demands using a fixed schedule.
• Provide customers with prompt and courteous service.
• Communicate effectively with store associates and management.
• Follow applicable federal, state, and local laws and ordinances.
• Model appropriate conduct for other store associates.
• Control variable expenses and ensure associates are properly uniformed and provide courteous service.
• Complete paperwork accurately and on time.
• Maintain inventory and loss within company guidelines, and conduct inventories as directed by management.
• Ensure associates accurately record all hours worked and receive breaks.
• Treat associates with dignity and respect, use appropriate personnel management techniques, and train new associates in their job duties.
• Advise the Store Manager of personnel situations or policy violations that adversely affect store performance.
• Ensure associate shift procedures and safety rules are followed, protective equipment is used, and the shopping and working environment is safe.
• Ensure current signage and plan-o-grams are in use, communicate special needs or requests to the Division Manager, and order merchandise to prevent out-of-stocks and maintain proper inventory levels.
• Maintain the appearance of food service areas and display cases, keep glass clean, follow sanitation procedures, and report maintenance issues that cannot be corrected without assistance to the Store Manager.
• Ensure ladders, lifting procedures, and wet-floor signs are used according to company policy.
• Promptly report accidents to the Store Manager and corporate office.
• Promote the Huck’s Bucks Loyalty app, explain its benefits, help customers sign up and use it, and monitor transactions for potential misuse of points or discounts.
