About The Position

Every Huck's Market Food Service Associate plays a key role in running the food service area smoothly and effectively. By following company guidelines, Associates help ensure the department remains profitable while delivering quality food and customer service. Associates are expected to provide fast, friendly service and maintain high standards for cleanliness. The role includes preparing and merchandising food, supporting store operations and safety, assisting with associate training, and promoting the Huck’s Bucks Loyalty app. Huck’s is a 100% employee-owned company.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the food service department is open and ready during food service hours.
• Provide customers with prompt and courteous service.
• Communicate effectively with store associates.
• Follow applicable federal, state, and local laws and ordinances related to store operations.
• Control food preparation quantities to limit waste while maintaining adequate availability for customers.
• Treat associates with dignity and respect.
• Advise the store manager of personnel situations or policy violations that adversely affect store performance.
• Assist in training new associates to complete their job duties properly.
• Ensure associate shift procedures are followed.
• Help maintain a safe shopping and working environment, follow safety rules, and use protective equipment.
• Ensure current plan-o-grams are used.
• Communicate special needs or requests to the manager.
• Alert the manager to merchandise ordering needs to prevent out-of-stocks and maintain inventory as directed.
• Promote the Huck’s Bucks Loyalty app and explain its benefits to customers.
• Monitor transactions for possible misuse of points or discounts.
• Help customers sign up for and use the app, including discounts and redemptions.
• Maintain food service areas and displays to company appearance standards, keeping display cases and glass clean.
• Report maintenance problems that cannot be corrected immediately to the store manager.
• Keep food service areas clean and follow sanitation procedures.
• Ensure ladders, lifting procedures, and wet-floor signs are used according to company policy.
• Promptly report accidents to the store manager and corporate office.
