About The Position

Every Huck's Market Food Service Associate plays a key role in running the food service area smoothly and effectively. By following company guidelines, Associates help ensure the department stays profitable while delivering high-quality food and customer service. Associates are expected to provide fast, friendly service and maintain high standards for store cleanliness. Huck's is a 100% employee-owned company.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the food service department is open and ready for business during food service hours.
• Give customers prompt and courteous service and communicate effectively with store associates.
• Follow all federal, state, and local laws and ordinances related to store operations.
• Control food preparation quantities to limit waste while keeping enough food available for customers.
• Treat associates with dignity and respect; advise the Store Manager of personnel situations or policy violations that adversely affect store performance.
• Assist in training new associates to properly perform their job duties.
• Ensure associate shift procedures are followed and maintain a safe shopping and working environment.
• Ensure safety rules are followed and protective equipment is used.
• Ensure current plan-o-grams are being used and communicate special needs or requests to the Manager.
• Alert the Manager about merchandise ordering needs to prevent out-of-stocks and maintain proper inventory levels as directed.
• Promote the Huck's Bucks Loyalty app, explain its benefits, help customers sign up and use it, and monitor transactions for potential misuse of points or discounts.
• Maintain food service appearance in accordance with company expectations, keep display cases and glass clean, and report maintenance problems to the Store Manager when they cannot be corrected immediately without assistance.
• Keep food service areas clean and follow sanitation procedures.
• Ensure ladders are used properly, lifting procedures are followed, and wet floor signs are used according to company policy.
• Promptly report accidents to the Store Manager and corporate office.
