About The Position

Every Huck's Market Food Service Associate plays a key role in running the food service area smoothly and effectively. By following company guidelines, Associates help ensure the department stays profitable while delivering quality food and customer service. The listed requirements, duties, and responsibilities are not exhaustive. Management may revise the job description and require other tasks when circumstances change, such as emergencies, staffing changes, workload changes, or technical development.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the food service department is open and ready for business during food service hours.
• Provide customers with prompt and courteous service.
• Communicate effectively with store associates.
• Follow applicable federal, state, and local laws and ordinances related to store operations.
• Manage food preparation quantities to reduce waste while maintaining adequate availability for customers.
• Treat all associates with dignity and respect.
• Advise the store manager of personnel situations or policy violations that adversely affect store operating performance.
• Assist in training new associates to perform their job duties properly.
• Ensure associate shift procedures are followed.
• Help maintain a safe shopping and working environment and ensure safety rules are followed and protective equipment is used.
• Ensure current plan-o-grams are in use.
• Communicate special needs or requests to the manager and alert the manager about merchandise ordering to prevent out-of-stocks and maintain inventory as directed.
• Promote the Huck’s Bucks Loyalty app, explain its benefits, assist customers with signing up and using discounts and redemptions, and monitor transactions for potential misuse of points or discounts.
• Maintain the food service area’s appearance to company standards, keep display cases and glass clean, report maintenance problems requiring assistance to the store manager, and keep food service areas clean in accordance with sanitation procedures.
• Ensure ladders are used properly, lifting procedures are followed, and wet floor signs are used according to company policy.
• Promptly report accidents to the Store Manager and Corporate office.
