About The Position

Every Huck's Market Food Service Associate plays a key role in running the food service area smoothly and effectively. By following company guidelines, Associates help ensure the department remains profitable while delivering high-quality food and customer service. Associates are expected to provide fast, friendly service and maintain high standards for store cleanliness.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the food service department is open and ready for business during food service hours.
• Provide customers with prompt and courteous service.
• Communicate effectively with store associates.
• Follow applicable federal, state, and local laws and ordinances pertaining to store operations.
• Manage food preparation quantities to reduce waste while ensuring adequate availability for customers.
• Treat associates with dignity and respect.
• Advise the store manager of personnel situations or policy violations that adversely affect store operating performance.
• Assist with training new associates in the proper completion of their duties.
• Ensure associate shift procedures are followed.
• Help maintain a safe shopping and working environment, and ensure safety rules and protective equipment requirements are followed.
• Ensure current plan-o-grams are used.
• Communicate special needs or requests to the manager.
• Alert the manager to merchandise ordering needs to prevent out-of-stocks and maintain appropriate inventory levels as directed.
• Promote the Huck’s Bucks Loyalty app and explain the benefits of signing up and using it.
• Monitor transactions for potential misuse of points or discounts.
• Assist customers with signing up for and using the app for discounts and redemptions.
• Maintain food service appearance according to company expectations and standards, including keeping display cases and glass clean.
• Report maintenance problems that cannot be corrected immediately without assistance to the store manager.
• Keep food service areas clean and follow sanitation procedures.
• Ensure ladders are used properly, lifting procedures are followed, and wet floor signs are used according to company policy.
• Promptly report accidents to the Store Manager and Corporate office.
