About The Position

The Food Service Manager is responsible for the proper and efficient operation of the Food Service Department within company policy, ensuring that it is profitable and maintains high standards of quality and customer service. The role supports department readiness and scheduling, customer service, associate management and training, bookkeeping, inventory, safety, security, merchandising, cleanliness, and maintenance. The manager also promotes the Huck’s Bucks Loyalty app and assists customers with its use.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the Food Service Department is open and ready for business during scheduled hours.
• Schedule associates effectively to meet business demands using a fixed schedule.
• Provide customers with prompt and courteous service.
• Communicate effectively with store associates and management.
• Follow federal, state, and local laws and ordinances related to department operations.
• Model appropriate conduct for other store associates.
• Control variable department expenses.
• Ensure associates wear proper uniforms and provide prompt, courteous customer service.
• Complete paperwork accurately and on time.
• Maintain inventory and loss within company guidelines and conduct inventories as directed by management.
• Ensure associates accurately record all hours worked.
• Treat associates with dignity and respect and use appropriate personnel management techniques.
• Ensure associates receive breaks.
• Advise the Store Manager of personnel situations or policy violations that adversely affect store operations.
• Train new associates to perform their job duties properly.
• Ensure associate shift procedures are followed and maintain a safe shopping and working environment.
• Ensure safety rules are followed and protective equipment is used.
• Ensure current signs are posted when a sign program begins and that current plan-o-grams are used.
• Communicate special needs or requests to the Division Manager.
• Order merchandise effectively to prevent out-of-stocks and maintain proper inventory levels as directed.
• Maintain food service appearance to company standards, keep display cases and glass clean, and ensure food service areas are clean and sanitation procedures are followed.
• Report maintenance problems that cannot be corrected immediately to the Store Manager.
• Ensure ladders are used properly, lifting procedures are followed, and wet floor signs are used according to company policy.
• Promptly report accidents to the Store Manager and corporate office.
• Promote the Huck’s Bucks Loyalty app and explain the benefits of signing up and using it.
• Monitor transactions for potential misuse of points or discounts.
• Help customers sign up for and use the app for discounts and redemptions.
