About The Position

Sandy Health and Rehab is a skilled nursing and rehabilitation community serving residents who depend on the facility for long-term and short-term care. The Food Service / Dietary Aide supports residents by preparing, assembling, and serving meals according to menus, recipes, dietary needs, and individual instructions. The role includes cleaning and stocking food service areas, following infection-control and safety practices, and communicating respectfully with residents, staff, and visitors. The position works with a geriatric population in a supportive, team-oriented environment.

Requirements

High school diploma, equivalent, or enrollment in current high school courses.
Experience working in the kitchen of an institution that provides meals to large groups daily.
Ability to lift, push, or pull 50–100 pounds unassisted.
Ability to stand or walk for long periods.
Full range of body motion, including handling and lifting objects.
Ability to see and hear, or use prosthetics that enable these senses to function adequately for the position.
Must meet the facility's general health requirements.

Responsibilities

Prepare hot and cold meals and beverages according to menus, recipes, and dietary needs.
Review tray cards for allergies, preferences, and special instructions.
Assemble meal trays with the correct dishware and adaptive equipment.
Serve meals and assist with delivery to residents.
Prepare and stock snack carts.
Clean dishes, utensils, and food preparation areas after use.
Follow established cleaning schedules and procedures.
Maintain infection-control and safety standards.
Communicate respectfully with residents, staff, and visitors.
Attend trainings and meetings and support additional assigned tasks.
