About The Position

Hemingford Care Center is hiring a part-time Dietary Aide for rotating morning and evening shifts at its skilled nursing and rehabilitation community in Hemingford, Nebraska. The role supports meal service for residents receiving long-term and short-term care, including a geriatric population. The Dietary Aide prepares and serves meals in accordance with menus, recipes, dietary needs, and resident instructions, while maintaining cleanliness, infection control, and safety standards. The position involves communicating respectfully with residents, staff, and visitors and contributing to a supportive, team-oriented environment.

Requirements

High school diploma, equivalent, or enrollment in current high school courses.
Experience working in the kitchen of an institution that provides meals to large groups daily.
Ability to lift, push, or pull 50–100 pounds unassisted.
Ability to stand or walk for long periods.
Ability to see and hear, or use prosthetics that enable these senses to function adequately to meet the position's requirements.
Must meet the general health requirements set forth by facility policies.

Responsibilities

Prepare hot and cold meals and beverages according to menus, recipes, and dietary needs.
Review tray cards for allergies, preferences, and special instructions.
Assemble meal trays with the correct dishware and adaptive equipment.
Serve meals and assist with delivery to residents.
Prepare and stock snack carts.
Clean dishes, utensils, and food preparation areas after use.
Follow established cleaning schedules and procedures.
Maintain infection control and safety standards.
Communicate respectfully with residents, staff, and visitors.
Attend trainings and meetings and support additional assigned tasks.
