About The Position

The Food Service Associate operates the restaurant point-of-sale system as a cashier, stocks restaurant supplies, ensures proper setup, cleans and stocks food inventories, maintains cleanliness of public areas, and delivers customer service. The role receives, prepares, and delivers customer orders; performs routine food preparation and serving tasks; cleans kitchen areas and utensils; and sets up and serves patient trays. The position is per diem with a variable shift at Adventist Health White Memorial in Los Angeles.

Requirements

Hospital Fire and Life Safety (HLFS) certification is required.
Associates must receive required vaccinations as a condition of employment and annually thereafter where applicable; medical and religious exemptions may apply.

Nice To Haves

High school education/GED or equivalent.
Associate’s/technical degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
SERV Safe certification or equivalent (preferred in California and Hawaii).

Responsibilities

Receive, prepare, and deliver customer orders efficiently.
Perform simple, routine tasks related to food preparation and service.
Clean kitchen areas and cooking utensils.
Operate the cash register and stock restaurant supplies as needed.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area; promptly report equipment maintenance or repair needs.
Maintain cleaning and temperature logs.
Operate dishwashing, peeling, and other mechanical equipment.
Set up and serve patient trays.
Carry dishes and food between the kitchen and serving lines.
Transport and store supplies.
Wash and cut vegetables and fruits.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
