About The Position

The Food Service Associate operates the restaurant point-of-sale system as a cashier, stocks restaurant supplies, sets up service areas, cleans and stocks food inventories, maintains clean public areas, and provides customer service. The role also involves preparing and serving food, handling patient trays, and cleaning kitchen areas and utensils. This position is per diem with a variable shift.

Requirements

• Hospital Fire and Life Safety (HLFS) certification is required.
• All required vaccinations must be received as a condition of employment and annually thereafter where applicable; medical and religious exemptions may apply.

Nice To Haves

• High school education, GED, or equivalent.
• Associate’s or technical degree, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• SERV Safe certification or equivalent (preferred in California and Hawaii).

Responsibilities

• Receive, prepare, and deliver customer orders efficiently.
• Perform routine tasks related to preparing and serving food, and clean kitchen areas and cooking utensils.
• Operate the cash register and stock restaurant supplies as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, report needed equipment maintenance or repairs, and maintain cleaning and temperature logs.
• Operate dishwashing, peeling, and other mechanical equipment.
• Set up and serve patient trays; carry dishes and food between the kitchen and serving lines.
• Transport and store supplies; wash and cut vegetables and fruits.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
• Maintain cleanliness of public areas and respond to customer needs.
