About The Position

Adventist Health Ukiah Valley is a 50-bed acute care medical center with trauma, intensive care nursery, rehabilitation, outpatient surgery and diagnostic, and wound care services. The Food Service Associate operates the restaurant point-of-sale system as a cashier, stocks restaurant supplies, prepares and serves food, sets up patient trays, and supports customer service. The role also includes cleaning kitchen and public areas, maintaining food inventories and temperature and cleaning logs, operating kitchen equipment, and transporting and storing supplies. Other job-related duties may be assigned. The position is per diem with a variable shift. Food Handler-ANSI certification is required. High school education/GED or equivalent, an associate’s/technical degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience, and SERV Safe certification or equivalent are preferred. Adventist Health requires associates to receive required vaccinations as a condition of employment and annually thereafter where applicable; medical and religious exemptions may apply.

Nice To Haves

High school education/GED or equivalent.

SERV Safe certification or equivalent (preferred in California and Hawaii).

Responsibilities

Receive, prepare, and deliver customer orders efficiently.
Perform routine food preparation and serving tasks; clean kitchen areas and cooking utensils.
Operate the restaurant point-of-sale system and cash register.
Stock restaurant supplies and food inventories as needed.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area and public areas; report needed equipment maintenance or repairs promptly.
Maintain cleaning and temperature logs.
Operate dishwashing, peeling, and other mechanical equipment.
Set up and serve patient trays.
Carry dishes and food between the kitchen and serving lines.
Transport and store supplies.
Wash and cut vegetables and fruits.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
