About The Position

The Food Service Assistant performs food service duties at Hutchinson Village, a 65-bed senior skilled nursing facility specializing in long-term and post-acute care. Responsibilities include monitoring and recording food temperatures, setting up and maintaining a clean and sanitized serving area, preparing and serving food, restocking food areas, cleaning and sanitizing equipment, and taking payment for food and beverages using a computerized register. The role follows HACCP guidelines, maintains quality control standards, and provides outstanding customer service while communicating effectively with patrons and co-workers. On-the-job training is provided. Depending on the hiring location, ServSafe certification may be required within a designated time frame, and Basic Life Support certification may also be required.

Requirements

Be at least 16 years of age.
Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions.
Ability to perform basic math.
Ability to work independently when necessary.
Understanding of food safety and sanitation processes.
Ability to be on feet for most of the day and walk long distances.

Nice To Haves

Food industry experience.
Previous customer service experience.
Experience counting and reconciling money in a retail setting.
Knowledge of food service.
