About The Position

The Food Service Assistant performs food-service duties such as monitoring and recording food temperatures, setting up and maintaining a clean and sanitized serving area, preparing and serving food, restocking food areas, cleaning and sanitizing equipment, and processing payments for food and beverages using a computerized register. The role follows Hazardous Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines, maintains quality-control standards, and provides outstanding customer service while communicating effectively with patrons and coworkers. The position offers on-the-job training. Depending on the location, Serv Safe certification may need to be obtained within a designated time frame, and Basic Life Support (BLS) may be required.

Requirements

Be at least 16 years of age.
Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions.
Ability to perform basic math.
Ability to work independently when necessary.
Ability to be on one's feet for most of the day and walk long distances.
On-the-job training is provided.

Nice To Haves

Food-industry experience.
Previous customer-service experience.
Experience counting and reconciling money in a retail setting.
Knowledge of food service.
Understanding of food safety and sanitation processes.
Serv Safe may be required within a designated time frame, depending on location.
Basic Life Support (BLS) may be required, depending on location requirements.
