About The Position

The Food Service Assistant performs food-service duties at Good Samaritan Estes Park, a 30-bed assisted living facility specializing in long-term care. Duties include monitoring and recording food temperatures, preparing and serving food, setting up and maintaining clean and sanitized serving areas, restocking food areas, cleaning and sanitizing equipment, and processing payments for food and beverages using a computerized register. The role follows HACCP food-service guidelines, maintains quality-control standards, and provides effective customer service and communication with patrons and coworkers. On-the-job training is provided. Depending on the location, ServSafe certification and Basic Life Support (BLS) may be required.

Requirements

Must be at least 16 years of age.
Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions.
Ability to perform basic math.
Ability to work independently when necessary.
Understanding of food safety and sanitation processes.
Ability to remain on feet for most of the day and walk long distances.
ServSafe may be required within a designated time frame, depending on location.
Basic Life Support (BLS) may be required depending on location requirements.

Nice To Haves

Previous customer-service experience.
Experience with retail counting and reconciliation of money.
Knowledge of food service.
Experience working in the food industry.
