About The Position

The Food Service Assistant performs food service duties at Hutchinson Village, a 65-bed senior skilled nursing facility providing long-term and post-acute care. Responsibilities include monitoring and recording food temperatures, setting up and maintaining a clean and sanitized serving area, preparing and serving food, restocking food areas, cleaning and sanitizing equipment, and processing payments for food and beverages using a computerized register. The role follows food safety and sanitation requirements and provides customer service to patrons and coworkers. On-the-job training is provided.

Requirements

Must be at least 16 years of age.
Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions.
Ability to perform basic math.
Ability to work independently when necessary.
Understanding of food safety and sanitation processes.
Ability to stand for most of the day and walk long distances.

Nice To Haves

Previous customer service experience.
Experience counting and reconciling money in a retail setting.
Knowledge of food service.
Experience working in the food industry.
Serv Safe certification may be required within a designated time frame, depending on the hiring location.
Basic Life Support (BLS) may be required depending on location requirements.

Responsibilities
